Kammer Klang returns to Cafe OTO for its 25th concert in the series.
Presenting music by Ligeti, Stockhausen, Simon Steen-Andersen, Alvin Lucier and Terry Riley.

Arrangements by Kerry Yong for the ensemble: Ligeti's Lux Aeterna (featured in the soundtrack to Kubrick's 2001: A Space Odyssey).

The psychedelic A Rainbow in Curved Air by Terry Riley performed by Kerry Yong on Casio with effects pedals.

Violinist Eloisa-Fleur Thom performs her take on Alvin Lucier's I'm Sitting in a Room, newly arranged and titled ‘From death, lead me to immortality’.

Simon Steen-Andersen's Study for String Instrument No.2 for string instruments and whammy pedal performed by Lucy Railton (cello) and Kerry Yong (whammy pedal).

A concert of works from his last decade by British composer Cornelius Cardew (1936-1981) drawing on the socialist themes (”the people’s struggles”) and the popular and traditional tunes which inspired him.


The concert follows a symposium on Cardew’s work at Glasgow Caledonian University (see http://www.n-ism.org/CIM2011/programme.php)
