Young Composer Mariam Rezaei presents Noisestra, a 14 turntable ensemble of young people performing new music inspired by the North East and the spirit of the Olympics. Exploring music through graphic scores and turntablist performances, Noisestra will perform with experimental new music ensemble Apartment House for a unique performance.
Apartment House were recently awarded the prestigious Royal Philharmonic Society Award in the Chamber Music and Song category. Last night’s awards ceremony at The Dorchester in London saw Artistic Director Anton Lukoszevieze receive the award on the ensemble’s behalf. The Winners Citation read: “Apartment House’s performances are always revelatory, and the concert of John Cage’s music at the Queen Elizabeth Hall in September 2011 was an epiphany, confirming the status of Apartment House as one of the most innovative and exciting chamber ensembles in Europe.”
