Featuring:
CAGE SONG BOOKS
Robert Worby | electronics, Lore Lixenberg, Gregory Rose | vocals
In Cage’s dramatic masterpiece, songs and theatre and electronics mash up Fluxus-like food events, amplified board games, electroacoustic voices, ‘animal heads’ and intense feedback. The performers’ recording of the Song books – the first ever made – is out on Sub Rosa on 5th September, Cage’s 100th Birthday.
“ … to consider the Song Books as a work of art is nearly impossible.  Who would dare?  It resembles a brothel, doesn’t it?” John Cage

4 PULSE ETUDES FOR PREPARED ELECTRO-ACOUSTIC PIANO
Leon Michener | prepared electroacoustic piano
A celebrated exponent of Cage’s prepared piano works, Michener’s Pulse Etudes offer a pumping electronic expansion of the Cageian piano concept

COVER ME CAGE
Kerry Yong | keyboards / electronics
With prepared piano screws, bolts and leather sounds re-imagined through samples and synthesised electronics ,Yong’s irreverent reworks have stunned audiences at venues such as Chisenhale Arts Club and Cafe Oto.

+ Special performances of 4’33″ , Imaginary Landscape No. 1 and other Cage favourites + Cage-inspired DJ sets from the Nonclassical residents!
