No, it isn't Gustav Holst, nor Isao Tomita...

The Centre for Planetary Sciences at UCL/Birkbeck
Wednesday, June 24, 2015 6:00-9:00 pm

Valentina Pravodelov and Kerry Yong give a premiere performance of a new work for piano duet titled Pluto and Charon - A Planetary Waltz, created as a collaboration between Catherine Kontz and Minna Orvokki Nygren. The work is inspired by New Horizons space mission which culminates in the Pluto fly-by event (14th July 2015). Through music the work explores the unusual relationship between the icy planet Pluto and its largest moon Charon, which together perform an orbital ballet of the skies. Commissioned by the Centre for Planetary Sciences UCL/Birkbeck, it will be performed last in a line up of 6 acts of An Evening with the Planets in the UCL marquee in the Quad.
